On April 22, 2013, New Orleans’ Hornets point guard Greivis Vasquez visited Esperanza Charter School to promote healthy habits and physical activity to the students and staff. Vasquez shared his health and wellness advice, and encouraged students to participate in physical activity.

Esperanza Charter School is a member of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program and has been working to make significant changes in the areas of school meals, physical activity and staff wellness.
