About Us

In 1952, Lew and Edie Wasserman created the Wasserman Foundation from funds garnered through Mr. Wasserman’s decades of leadership at MCA/Universal.  The Wassermans served as benefactors for lasting cultural, educational, and health institutions including the Los Angeles Music Center, CalArts, the Motion Picture and Television Fund, the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The Foundation currently funds in the areas of education, arts & culture, health, service and global initiatives.

Casey Wasserman President and CEO, Wasserman Foundation; Chairperson, LA 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games

Casey Wasserman is a philanthropist and business executive with decades of leadership expertise. As the grandson of Lew and Edie Wasserman, Casey upholds his family’s philanthropic legacy as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wasserman Foundation. In his role with the Foundation, Casey funds non-profit organizations in education, arts and culture, health, service, and global initiatives.

Beyond the Foundation, Casey supports several impactful initiatives. A 1996 graduate of UCLA, he contributes to his alma mater as a board member of the UCLA Stein Eye Institute and as Co-Chair of the UCLA Second Century Council. He also serves on the boards of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF).

Additionally, Casey is Chairperson of LA2028, the organizing committee for the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. Earlier in his career, Casey founded Wasserman, a global sports, music, entertainment, and brand management agency with operations in more than 70 cities across 28 countries.

Casey was born and raised in California and currently resides in Los Angeles.
