Professional swimmer and six-time Olympic medalist Rebecca Soni visited Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in La Quinta, CA on January 16, 2013 as part of a the Clinton Foundation’s annual Health Matters Conference in Palm Springs. Soni shared her experience and expertise on  living a healthy lifestyle with the students and staff during a school celebration. Soni also talked about the importance of setting goals and overcoming obstacles.

Benjamin Franklin Elementary School is a member of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program and is working to make significant changes in the areas of school meals, physical activity and staff wellness. Soni’s visit was part of a series of events in connection with the William J. Clinton Foundation’s annual Health Matters conference in Palm Springs held January 14-15, which precedes the Humana Challenge PGA TOUR golf tournament.
