Atlanta Hawks' Al Horford Visits Sutton Middle School in Atlanta

Atlanta Hawks star Al Horford visited Sutton Middle School in Atlanta, GA on March 25, 2014 to celebrate the school’s wellness achievements through President Clinton’s Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Horford spoke to more than 500 seventh graders about nutrition, fitness and the importance of forming healthy lifestyle habits. Horford also stopped by a dance class and joined students in a ballet lesson while he was touring the school with the assistant principal.

Sutton Middle School has been nationally recognized as a bronze level school by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and is continuing to make healthy changes to achieve silver status. Sutton offers a wide variety of extracurricular physical activities including ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, dance classes, tennis, football, soccer, yoga, volleyball and more. The school has also installed a salad bar in its cafeteria, ensuring students have access to more nutritious meals. Sutton Middle School has a wellness council which has planned several wellness days and campaigns for students and staff.
