In 1952, Lew and Edie Wasserman created the Wasserman Foundation from funds garnered through Mr. Wasserman’s decades of leadership at MCA/Universal. The Wassermans served as benefactors for lasting cultural, educational, and health institutions including the Los Angeles Music Center, CalArts, the Motion Picture and Television Fund, the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The Foundation currently funds in the areas of education, arts & culture, health, service and global initiatives.

Casey Wasserman is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wasserman, a leading sports, entertainment and lifestyle marketing and management agency that represents brands, properties, and talent on a global basis. He is also the Chairperson of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a position held since 2014 when Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti appointed Casey to head the city’s successful bid campaign. Casey also serves as the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee Chairman for Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
Wasserman also serves as President and CEO of the Wasserman Foundation, a private family foundation founded in 1952 by his grandparents Lew and Edie Wasserman. The foundation currently funds in the areas of education, arts & culture, health, service, and global initiatives. Wasserman is a trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and a board member of several renowned philanthropic organizations including The Jules Stein Eye Institute, The LBJ Presidential Library and The Motion Picture & Television Fund.
Wasserman serves on the board of directors of Activision and the digital media company, Vox Media. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA and resides in Los Angeles.

Rica Rodman Executive Director
Rica is the Executive Director of the Wasserman Foundation. She has over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, communications strategy, and government relations.
Rica began her career in The White House, serving four years in the press office as President Clinton’s Radio Director. Following her time in Washington, D.C., Rica managed government relations for The Walt Disney Company and also served as Director of the Lear Family Foundation. In addition, Rica worked in public relations, first as Vice President of a firm in Washington, D.C. and again when she founded her own public relations firm. Her client roster included the United Nations World Food Programme, the United Nations Foundation, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Washington, D.C. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial.
Rica has been active in politics for decades including serving as television booker for the Kerry Edwards presidential campaign, fundraising for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s U.S. Senate and two Presidential campaigns, participating in five national Democratic conventions, and fundraising for Antonio Villaraigosa’s first Los Angeles mayoral campaign.
Rica is the Co-Chair of the Human Rights Watch Los Angeles Committee. She also serves on the Budget and Finance Committee of the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands and is a Board Member of the Center for the Digital Future. She is the former President of the Getty House Foundation, which oversees the official residence of the Los Angeles Mayor. Rica is a former Board Member of The Music Center of Los Angeles and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, founded by the Clinton Foundation and American Heart Association.
Rica graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with Honors from UCLA in Communications Studies. She lives in Los Angeles and enjoys international travel, kayaking, hiking, yoga, and biking.

Chloe Swenson Coordinator
Chloe Swenson joined the Wasserman Foundation in March 2022 and currently serves as the Foundation’s Coordinator under the leadership of President & CEO Casey Wasserman and Executive Director Rica Rodman. In this role, Chloe provides assistance to the Foundation and its charitable giving initiatives in the areas of education, health, arts & culture, service, and global initiatives. Chloe coordinates on a variety of special projects and events and is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s social media efforts. Finally, Chloe serves as the point person for a global volunteer day that takes place in 19+ cities around the world.
Chloe recently moved to Los Angeles from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to joining the Wasserman Foundation, Chloe worked in public relations and on the fundraising teams for Senator Amy Klobuchar’s presidential campaign and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood’s 2020 reelection campaign.
Chloe graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Political Science. Outside of work, Chloe enjoys reading, trying new restaurants and exploring LA.
