On Friday, May 6, 2005 this year's recipients of the Wasserman Student Aid Fund and Wasserman Upperclass Merit awards at Caltech joined Casey Wasserman and Jamie Mark from the Wasserman Foundation for a scholarship luncheon at Caltech's Athenaeum.
About 20 students were present along with Robert McQuinn, associate vice president of development; Lucie Spencer, associate director of foundation relations; David Levy, director of financial aid; and Carolyn Ash, director of the SURF program.
Presentations were made by Carolyn Ash about Lew and Edie Wasserman's dedication and support of Caltech and by Jenny Hsiao, a Wasserman Scholar, about the impact the scholarship has had on her. Casey also addressed the group, explaining to the scholars how important Caltech and philanthropy was to his grandfather.
